Directions

From the south, (M1, A1, A19) head east along the A64 towards Scarborough. At the A1079 York to Hull intersection, turn off and travel towards the centre of York. Two miles from the A64 and A1079 junction you come to the first, and only, set of cross road traffic lights. Proceed straight on (passing the 'Shell' garage on your left hand-side) for about 100 yards. Bull Lane, a very narrow turning, is off to the right (the Bull Lane sign is on the left side of the road) and Bull Lodge is some 40 yards down Bull Lane. Should you miss the Bull Lane turnoff you will immediately pass the blue and yellow 'Jet' garage on your left hand-side of Lawrence Street and arrive at the city walls at Walmgate a quarter of a mile away.

From other directions follow the road signs for York city centre until you arrive at the inner ring road, the A1036. Follow the inner ring road until you arrive at Walmgate Bar and the A1036 and A1079 Hull Road intersection. Branch off onto the A1079 Lawrence Street and follow the road out for a quarter of a mile. Just past the blue and yellow 'Jet' garage on the right, Bull Lane is a very narrow turning off to the left. Bull Lodge is some 40 yards down Bull Lane.

From the rail station it's a five minute taxi ride. A thrice-hourly bus service, no. 10, runs until 7.30 p.m. from outside the station out to Lawrence Street - ask for 'the convent stop', about 100 yards before Bull Lane - fare is 80p and they give change.
