Alcuin Lodge's large dining room overlooks an old fashioned bowling green on the edge of the city, but is still a mere 5 minute stroll from town through the charming Museum Gardens.Alcuin Lodge is tastefully decorated, with original, charming Edwardian features such as fireplaces, cornices and sash windows. Guests can enjoy comfortable accommodation, wholesome food, and service with warmth and friendliness that will ensure you feel at home from the moment you arrive.

It has wonderful Edwardian furniture and is tastefully decorated in soft tones and comes with all listed facilities. Room 1 is a twin room, situated at the back of the house on the first floor. The room is a good size with a large en suite bathroom. It is tastefully decorated in soft tones and comes with all listed facilities. Room 3 is a family room, with a double and a single bed. This room can also be sold as a large double or a twin. The room is large, light and airy and overlooks an English bowling green.
It has wonderful Edwardian furniture and a window seat in the bay window. This room also has a large en suite bathroom. It is tastefully decorated in soft tones and comes with all listed facilities. Room 4 is a larger, light and airy double and overlooks St Peter's Park and the York Eye.
The room has a French feel, decorated in soft tones and comes with all listed facilities. The room is on the second floor. Set on the 2nd floor in the eaves of the house, the room is a cosy hideaway. It has a sink in the room and a private bathroom with bath (just across the hall).
The room is a small, basic/standard double, with all the benefits of a 4-star guest house. |
Room 2 is a good sized, double en suite room. It is light and airy and looks over the back of the house to the park.

On Foot
From the railway station:
- Turn left out of the station towards the Minster.
- Cross the river via Landal Bridge.
- At the first set of traffic lights, turn left on to Exhibition Square. Take the next left at the lights, to Bootham.
- Take the 3rd left turn in to Bootham Terrace (just before you reach the Churchill Hotel).
- Continue until the road opens out, look right, and there we stand (10 minutes’ walk).
By Car
From the South , via the A64:
- Travel east on the A64.
- Take the A1237 and continue for 5 miles, following signs to Thirsk (A19).
- At the roundabout that intersects the A19, turn right (York), continue for 2 miles.
- Look out for a large hotel on your left: The Churchill.
- Take the first right after the hotel: Bootham Terrace. Continue until the road opens out, look right, and there we stand.
From Hull (the East):
- After reaching York on the 1079, turn left down the A64 section of the ring road.
- Then, take the A1237 until the A19 intersection.
- Turn left for York, and continue for 2 miles.
- Look out for a large hotel on your left: The Churchill.
- Follow as above.

- If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
- If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged.
